NSW Maritime advises vessel operators using the Swansea Channel, Lake Macquarie that dredging works will be occurring between Naru Point and “The Dropover” until 28 June 2024. Vessel operators are encouraged to keep well clear of the dredge works and to use an alternate marked navigation channel (known as “The Airforce Channel”) which is situated on the southern side of Elizabeth Island. Vessel operators in the vicinity of the dredging works are advised to exercise extreme caution, minimise their wash, and keep clear of work vessels, machinery, dredge equipment and marked hazards.
